Aircraft on Ground, or AOG, is a term in aviation maintenance indicating that there is a problem serious enough to prevent an aircraft from flying. There is usually a rush to obtain parts to get the aircraft (A/C) back into service and avoid further delay or cancellation of the planned itinerary.

AOG applies to all aviation supplies or spare parts needed immediately for an aircraft to return to service. When an aircraft is “AOG” and the required materials are not on hand, parts and personnel must be immediately taken, flown or sailed to the location of the “grounded aircraft”.
